The Miwa family has established a top position in the world of Hagi ware and continues to enjoy great acclaim and popularity. He was the younger brother of the 10th generation Miwa Kyusetsu (Kyuwa), who was designated an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Hagi ware, and inherited the Miwa family after his brother retired. The 11th generation Miwa Kyusetsu (Jusetsu), who was also designated a Living National Treasure of Hagi ware, has an outstanding work. He trained in traditional techniques under his brother Kyusetsu, and later studied under Kawakita Handeishi. He studied tea pottery and is said to have trained without a moment's rest for 30 years until he became independent, and his techniques have left behind many wonderful works that will be passed down to future generations. This work is faithful to the basics that he learned from his brother Kyusetsu, and is a very beautiful tea bowl that represents the Miwa family. The 11th generation Hagi tea bowl, which he inherited and evolved from his brother, is widely known and highly popular not only in the tea world but also among art lovers.
