Kimura Morinobu was born in 1932 as the third son of Kimura Seizan, a renowned master of Kyoto ware painting. Having learned pottery from his eldest brother, Kimura Morinobu was selected for his first Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition at the young age of 26. Since then, he has pioneered a unique world of pottery, using familiar natural materials in ash glazes. His techniques and achievements have been highly praised, and he has been recognized as a holder of the Kyoto Prefecture Intangible Cultural Property.
