Born on September 13, 1901.
The eldest son of the 5th Shimizu Rokubei.
In 1945, he took over the family business of Kyoto Kiyomizu ware.
New glazing and firing techniques are added to traditional Kyoto ware techniques.
In 1956, he received the Art Academy Award for his work "Genyo Sou Vase."
In 1976, he was awarded the Person of Cultural Merit and became a member of the Japan Art Academy.
He passed away on April 17, 1980 at the age of 78.
Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Painting School (now Kyoto City University of Arts). His childhood name was Shotaro and his pen name was Rokusei.
